What is Kubernetes?
Kubernetes is an open-source platform for deploying, scaling and managing containerized workloads. It is neither a container nor the application code.
How it works and where it is used
1. How it works Users declare desired state via API objects; controllers reconcile it. Pods run workloads, while Deployments and Services manage lifecycle and access. 2. Applications and examples It supports multi-node rollout, restart and scaling. Control plane and worker nodes form a cluster, but simple apps may not justify the added operations.
Limits and good practice
3. Limitations and security Restarting a pod does not guarantee availability. Overbroad permissions, leaked secrets, weak networking and missing limits are risks. 4. Practical considerations Plan health checks, resource limits, backups, secret storage, access controls and monitoring together; keep versions maintained.
