What is self-assessment in learning?
Self-assessment compares one’s work or learning process with clear criteria to decide what to do next.

Rather than simply saying “I understand,” learners identify which problems they can solve and where evidence or errors lie. Checklists, exemplars and rubrics make comparison concrete. It is more than rating confidence.
