What is a defective product?
A defective product fails to conform to the contract or reasonable expectations at delivery.
Key concepts and application
Compare advertised features, samples, intended use and the delivered product. Damage from use is not automatically a defect. Receipts, orders, adverts, correspondence and photos help assess the claim.
Rights, procedure and limits
Possible remedies include repair, replacement, price reduction or rescission, subject to conditions. Document the complaint to the seller and check current official rules for the proper remedy and forum.
