How can incorrect education details in a YKS application be corrected?
If the education or graduation record used for a YKS application differs from the candidate’s supporting document, first identify the incorrect field and the institution supplying it. ÖSYM’s 2026 notices treat the candidate’s AİS review and selection separately from the school office’s KKİS update in specified cases. Available dates, routes and authority must be checked afresh for each examination year; editing an unrelated profile field is not necessarily a correction of the assessment record.
Identifying the source and the incorrect field
1. Which field is wrong? Education status, school name, graduation date, diploma grade and school-first status are different fields. Compare the displayed AİS line with your school record or graduation document and the notice for your YKS year. If several education records exist, also inspect which one is selected for the relevant evaluation. Note the field name without exposing a password or national identity number in a public screenshot. Selecting the wrong school record and finding an error in the source database can require different actions. Repeatedly clicking a selection without identifying the underlying problem may leave the original error intact. 2. What can the candidate review? ÖSYM’s 2026-YKS notice about candidates checking and selecting education details describes a personal review in AİS. Its examination link, deadline and year are specific to that notice. Sign in to your own account and choose the relevant YKS transaction. If an updated education record is present, follow the official instructions for selecting and confirming the record to be used. Merely seeing an item on a screen is not always the same as completing a required selection. Inspect the final confirmation state rather than assuming that a draft choice was accepted. Retain a private record of the outcome. 3. When does the school office enter the process? The 2026-YKS announcement described KKİS access for school offices to review, update or confirm records, including school-first information, where education data did not come from MEB e-Okul. That limited circumstance does not mean every candidate can directly write education data to KKİS. Tell the school precisely which field conflicts with which supporting document, and ask which source system the office is authorized to correct. ÖSYM announced a 23–30 June window for that 2026 operation. Do not infer the following year’s period or permissions from that historical example.
Checks and next steps
4. What follows a source correction? After a school or other authorized provider processes a change, revisit AİS to confirm that the correct details appear and that any required candidate selection or confirmation is complete. A verbal report that a school record was changed is different from seeing it reflected in the examination system. Read the closing hour as well as the date in the current announcement. If the correct record does not appear, contact the official channel with a concise description of the field and transaction, disclosing only necessary personal information. Do not presume the assessment record changed before checking the system state. 5. Why distinguish the school year and exam year? The year a school certificate was issued, the YKS examination year and the snapshot of education data used in an assessment can differ. Start with the notice for the specific YKS year and compare its required fields with the school and graduation details on your document. Attempting to use an old application page may lead to the wrong examination or deadline. For the effects of a diploma grade on placement scoring, read the evaluation chapter of that year’s guide. A general information article cannot calculate an individual’s definitive placement score or resolve a conflicting personal record. 6. What is the final check? Verify that AİS displays the correct school and graduation record and, if required, that the right education record has been selected and confirmed. Keep a relevant school correction document securely and do not publish identity details openly. Read the school-office and candidate-review announcements together to distinguish steps assigned to the school from those assigned to you. An expired procedure cannot be assumed to reopen, and no score adjustment can be promised here. The current instructions of ÖSYM and the authorized record provider determine the path for a particular candidate.
