How should exam sessions be selected in a YKS application?

Added: 4 November 2026

YKS is not one undifferentiated test session. ÖSYM’s 2026 application notice identifies TYT, AYT and YDT and distinguishes their exam days. Candidates should relate their intended programmes’ score types to the sessions selected in the application, then compare the fee, application summary and later admission documents. This article does not assign a universal session requirement or make a personal eligibility decision without the operative guide.

Distinguishing the sessions

1. What are TYT, AYT and YDT? ÖSYM’s 2026 notice lists TYT on the first day and AYT and YDT at different times on the second day. Exact dates and hours must be checked in the guide for the relevant year. Do not treat the different session names as one interchangeable test booklet. When selecting options in an application, read the official explanation of how the desired programme’s score type relates to sessions. Copying another applicant’s language or numerical choices may not fit your plans. Match your possible programme rows with the examination guide before confirming the form. 2. How does a target programme matter? The score type in ÖSYM’s higher education programme guide describes the assessment used for admission to that programme. A field name alone is not a reliable shortcut for every required session; related programmes can appear at different levels or under different score types. Read programme code, score type and session instructions together. Preferences may become final later, so consider the programmes you might realistically seek at application time. Do not generalize a stranger’s claim that a particular session is unnecessary to all degrees. Use the operative guide for the candidate’s year and situation. 3. What does AİS show? Open the application for the correct year in your own AİS account and inspect session choices one by one. After selecting TYT, AYT or YDT, review the application summary to see which choices were actually saved. A checked box on a draft screen and an entirely confirmed registration are different states. Also review centre, identification and education fields. Follow the channel and period in ÖSYM’s application announcement. A list prepared by an adviser is not a completed personal transaction in AİS. Verify the final on-screen state yourself and keep credentials private.

Verifying the choice

4. How is the fee checked? Compare selected sessions with the fee rule in that year’s official guide. This article states no fixed amount because prices and payment methods can change. If you paid for a session you did not intend, the current ÖSYM procedure determines whether correction is possible. A total on a bank transaction does not prove the selected sessions were right. Review the AİS application summary and payment status together. Any late-application pricing or closing time must be read from its separate instructions. Do not assume a normal-period payment rule carries over unchanged. 5. Why review the admission document later? When ÖSYM releases admission documents, check which sessions appear under your name as well as centre, building and time. If a planned session is absent, do not assume it can be added at the exam entrance. Consult the official contact or objection procedure for that year in time. The release of an admission document happens after application and is a separate verification step. Do not treat a TYT admission document as proof of registration for AYT or YDT. Inspect the official instructions for every session actually included in your candidate record. 6. How is the final decision made? Place the score types of potential programmes beside the YKS guide’s session rules and your AİS summary. Check that application and payment reached their complete states during the designated window; later compare official admission documents. The 2026 exam days are not permanent dates for future years. Exam selection alone cannot establish an individual’s performance or admission likelihood. If you suspect an omitted session, examine the current official modification procedure instead of relying on a social-media answer. Keep login information confidential and use the examination year displayed in your own record.
