What is AI-supported education?

AI-supported education means careful use of tools that recognise patterns or generate content in teaching and learning.

Possible uses

Teachers may draft exercises at different levels, learners may request another explanation of a concept, and speech-to-text tools may improve access. Outputs must be checked against subject expertise and sources before being accepted. Tools can invent facts, reflect cultural bias and infer a learner’s difficulty poorly. Learners should retain the work of thinking, asking questions and making their own products.

Safety and equity

A service’s data practices need review before personal information is entered; children’s data requires special care. Teachers explain the purpose and limits of tool use and demonstrate how to verify output. Alternatives must remain for students without devices or connectivity. UNESCO foregrounds human oversight, inclusion and educational purpose; the choice of a tool follows the pedagogical decision.
